I went with the curated box this month, as I wasn’t too thrilled with Birchbox PYS choices for March. This box had a couple of products I am familiar with and a couple of brands that I am not!

The theme this month is “Ready for Anything”
Parlor by Jeff Castain Smoothing Blowout Spray I love Amika’s Bombshell Blowout Spray so I am happy to try other blow out spray brands. A blowout spray will help cut down on drying time and protect your hair from heat damage, while giving your hair volume, thickness and shine. This is a lightweight spray and it SMELLS WONDERFUL ~ ripe peach, cut grass and white woods is what the description states and it is pretty close ~ I can smell the peach and grassy-green scents. This product is safe for color treated hair and is free of sulfates, parabens and gluten. Deluxe Size 1 0z RV $4.90
How To Use: Spray four to six times onto damp hair before blow-drying. For light- to medium-density hair, focus on the mid-shaft to ends; for really thick hair, spray throughout.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream I’ve owned Kiehl’s products before and I do really enjoy them a lot ~ in fact, I started getting into Kiehl’s after an airline stewardess told me about this brand and how it really helped her skin to control blemishes and moisturize, as it really gets dry in the airplane cabin. She also told me that the FLOTUS at the time (hint, this was back in the 1990’s) asked her about her moisturizers and was so impressed that she invited her on Air Force One to thank her for the recommendation. Six degrees of separation, that’s me!! This cream is probably too rich for my skin, but my mom will love it! Deluxe Sample .25 oz RV $4.04
Description: This is the hardworking follow-up to Kiehl’s beloved Ultra Facial Moisturizer; it’s a bit thicker and comes in a convenient pot (great for using up every last drop). Whether you have chronically dry skin, or you’re still getting over the winter woes, this is the ultimate soother. It’s rich without being greasy, and sinks in without any residue.

Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Filter Smashbox is a makeup company that I am VERY familiar with and have used them quite a bit in the late 1990’s, early 2000’s. They are pretty solid in terms of quality and packaging. This is a deluxe sized shadow trio pan in the color “Filter”, which contains 3 matte neutral shades ~ Vanilla: a cream for highlighting/base, Sable: a milk chocolate for contour and Sumatra: a dark chocolate brown for lash line and outer corners. These are very velvety and pigmented and will be great for achieving a smokey eye. I actually thought this was a full sized product, as it is quite big, but it is only a deluxe sample! Deluxe Size .04 oz RV $12.44
Milk Studios Lip Color in C.R.E.A.M This is called “nude” at Birchbox’s website but the card states it is a mauve nude shade, which it is. It has a semi-matte finish and if you like a lighter shade, it goes well with the Smashbox’s Eye Shadow Trio. This is fairly pigmented for a nude shade ~ it is hard to really tell, because the color is light. This has some really moisturizing and hydrating ingredients ~ castor oil, shea butter and coconut oil and contains no parabens. BTW ~ this is one of the smallest sizes of lipsticks I have ever seen. It reminds me of the Avon lipstick samples! Milk Studios products contain natural ingredients. Sample Size RV $5.00 ?
Description: This creamy lipstick features a 30 percent pigment load so you get intense color in a single swipe. The demi-matte formula lasts while hydrating and softening lips with shea butter, coconut oil, and grapefruit peel oil. The best part? This lipstick was designed to stand on its own, so there’s no need for primers or bases.

Wilma Schumann Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads I love eye gels, patches, masks, so I really am excited to try these! Wilma Schumann is a brand new brand for me and these eye pads are made with 100% pure collagen. They are supposed to hydrate and plump the skin around your eyes. It will help repair sensitive skin and brighten the area as well. This has glycerin and hyaluronic acid which will really help moisturize your skin. I really like that it has less than 10 ingredients in this product! One set of eye pads $3.60
How To Use: After cleansing, open foil pack and immediately apply one pad beneath each eye. Apply evenly to ensure a good contact with the skin. Leave on for 20 minutes then peel and dispose. Do not reuse.
Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Collagen, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Sodium Polyacrylate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Hyaluronic Acid cosDNA.com analysis
Although this isn’t the most exciting box ever, I did get some nice items in it ~ the eye gels, blowout spray and eye shadow were all winners. The lipstick is okay ~ I would have liked something other than a light color. This month’s RV of items is worth almost $30.00 and I paid $10.00 for this box. I also reviewed my box, so I got 50 Birchbox points ~ every 100 points is worth $10.00 in their shop. The twitter and Facebook share option for points has been discontinued 😦 Please fill out your review ~ it is just the questionnaire part and you will get 10 points for each product!
