Memebox Benton Value Set and I’m Eyeshadow Review

A few weeks ago, Memebox released some value sets that were brand themed and one of them was the Benton Value Set which was selling for $30.00 with free shipping AND a free gift.  Well, no second thoughts on this one as one of the items is my HG essence ~ the Snail Bee Essence.

My Benton Value set came the other day and here is what I received

Benton Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream   I have started to use this cream as my daily moisturizer since I received it.  The cream is pure white, has no scent and has a thick consistency.   I found that I only need a little bit of this cream to moisturize my face, otherwise it won’t absorb into my skin.    It is very hydrating and does not leave an oily residue on my face.   Once the cream is absorbed, it has a matte finish on my skin,  which I do appreciate.  The long term benefits of this cream is that it is to help reduce the appearance of acne scars and hyper-pigmentation and help with fine lines and wrinkles.  So far, I am liking the Benton High Content Steam Bee Snail Cream.   You can purchase this cream at the Memeshop for $15.00 and it is readily available at amazon.com and eBay.com as well.

Product Description: Benton High Content Steam Bee Snail Cream is a moisturizing cream.  The term “steam cream” describes the process by which the cream is made – the idea is that the high-temperature steam is injected as a mixed material in order to further simplify how ingredients work together. Steam injection process also contributes to the soft texture of the final product. This cream is suitable for sensitive skin, and promised to help eliminate acne, dry skin and oily skin, in addition to improving skin tone and reduce the signs of aging.

Ingredients: Snail Secretion Filtrate (90%), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Niacinamide, Stearic Acid, Behenyl Alcohol, Phytosqualene, Human Ogliopeptide-1, Bee Venom, Arbutin, Adenosine, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernal Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Arginine, Carbomer, Urea, Tocopher Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow Bark) Extract, Ulmus Campestris (Elm) Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pilsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract

Benton Snail Bee Essence  I‘ve been using this essence for a few months now and I even featured it in my November Products blog post.   I know that this is a controversial item, as there was a bad batch of this product in March of 2014 and it really ruined the skin texture of several customers.    Benton did acknowledge that this batch was contaminated and did refund/replace the product, but I feel they did not properly compensate those users whose skin was damaged by it.    However, I purchased this item before I knew about that history and I have to say that this item has worked wonders on my face ~ it helps control my acne and oiliness and I hope with long term use, fade scars and help with reducing the appearance of wrinkles!   I make sure that I look at the manufacturer date to ensure I didn’t get a March 2014 batch and I always, regardless of skin product, place my product on the back of my hand to inspect before applying to my face.  You can purchase this at Memebox for $15.00 and it is also available at amazon.com and eBay.com

Althaea Rosea is not a rose ~ it is part of the Mallow family (Malvaceae).  It is used as an emollient and an anti-inflammatory.

Free Gift

Mis en scene Damage Care Perfect Serum   I received this item in my Global #15 box and this product is not made for my hair type.  That said, it is made by parent company Pacific Amore, which is a great skincare/beauty company and this is a quality product.  Many people who have this item love it for their dry and damaged hair.  It is made with royal jelly, a variety of nut oils and rose water and this leave on serum helps nourish and glosses your dry and damaged hair.  Full Size 70mL Value $9.00

Product Description:  This highly-concentrated Perfect Serum is to be used before and/or after blow drying to give your hair the silky, well-nourished finish.  It’s enriched with 7 different natural oils –  argan, camellia, olive, jojoba, coconut, apricot, and marula – and its oil-like formula quickly  absorbs into the hair without making it sticky or greasy

How To Use: After towel drying, take a dime-size amount of the serum on your palm and massage it in throughout your hair.  It can be used multiple times a day.

This value set was $30.00 including shipping, and without the gift, it is a $50.00 value and including the gift, it is $59.00.  I think this was a pretty good deal and I wish I had purchased a few more of these!

I’m EyeShadow Review

I also purchased two of XO Memebox branded items, “I’m Eyeshadow” ~ in case an inanimate object ever forgets that it is eyeshadow, I suppose ~ in Queen and Soul.   They have 5 different shades and they are split pan eyeshadows.  Queen and Soul are the wine and brown colors of the offerings.

The pans are nice looking, very study black rounds, similar in size to Mac’s eyeshadows.  The website description is confusing, because I thought one of the shades, Deep Wine, was duplicated between the two pans.  However, I am happy to report that these shades are different!  No duplicates 🙂

  • Queen ~ Chocolate Brown (shimmer) and Deep Wine (matte)
  • Soul ~ Deep Wine (matte)  and Wine Brown (shimmer)

  1. Chocolate Brown Shimmer (Queen)
  2. Deep Wine Matte (Queen)
  3. Deep Wine Matte (Soul)
  4. Wine Brown Shimmer  (Soul)

The above swatches were taken at night under different lighting conditions.  Also, I did not use primer ~ these shadows were swatched directly from the pan to my skin.  As you can see, the pigmentation is pretty decent even without primer and there was no fall out in the shadows.  The texture and quality is the same as the Pony Palette.  I am really pleased with the colors ~ I love browns and plums and these are perfect fall/winter colors for me.  I did use Soul yesterday and I have to say ~ if you have green or eyes with green in them, these colors will make the green in your eyes POP!  I had comments from friends and co-workers if I was wearing colored contacts!

You can purchase the colors at Memeshop:   Soul, Queen and the rest of the shades for $7.00 each or $24.40 for all 5.

  1. Oh everything looks great, thanks for the review! I’m still waiting for my Benton set to arrive. It would be my first time trying the products. Do you think everyone will receive the same free gift?
