Unboxing Beauty

 Jolse  Cosmetics, a premier K-Beauty online store,  sent me a couple of Moonshot’s latest lippies for review purposes.   Moonshot is part of YG Entertainment’s beauty division, producing edgy products in keeping with their K-Pop line-up. In the past, Moonshot spokespeople included Big Bang,  G-Dragon of Big Bang, Dara from 2NE1 and today, they have Lisa from Black Pink.

Moonshot Performance Lip Blur Fixing Tint uses BlurFix™ Technology for color and blur freezing.  The highly pigmented shade is long lasting and the blurring is set in place for the duration of the lip color.  Even when the lip shade is rubbed off, it will still have a tint with that powdery blurring effect.

I love the packaging on these lippies. It comes in a pink tube with blue lettering and the applicator cap is a flattened rectangle with a curved top. The bottom of the tube has a clear section so you can see the color of the lippie.   The doe tip applicator  has soft bristles, a slight slant and a pointer end.  This allows me to better define and control the amount of lip tint that I apply.  The tint is so so soft and velvety going on ~ this is more of a cream than a liquid.  When it dries down, it is not cakey at all, and still has a creamy texture, yet it is matte.   This tint doesn’t crack on my lips at all and it is highly pigmented.  When it wears off, there is a nice tint left.   This does have a nice sweet sugary scent to it, but no taste, which I am grateful for, as I have tried lip tints that made me want to brush my teeth after tasting them.

The two notable ingredients are dimethicone, which explains its silky, velvet texture with an easy slip, and avocado. Antioxidant avocados are full of  carotenoids, such as alpha and beta caroten ~ and these antioxidants combat free radical and environmental damage and protect your lips from premature aging.  It is also full of vitamin C, which helps stimulate the production of collagen, which leads to firmer skin and vitamin E,  another powerful antioxidant.  It also has an omega-9 fat, high oleic acid, which helps create a moisture barrier, making skin soft and moisturized, while regenerating damaged skin cells and reducing irritation and redness.  Very good for your lips as it moisturizes, heals and repairs chapped, dry lips. 

POWER HUSTLE 

Power Hustle (05) is supposed to be a warm toned red shade, but to my eyes and on my lips, it is a orange-red shade.  

 

BANG

Bang (06) is described as a neutral-tone vintage rose color, which I will admit, it does pull more rose tones than Power Hustle.  It still has a peachy core, though, and quite frankly on my lips, they look WAY too similar.   For some reason, these shades were very difficult to photograph properly.  I would say both Power Hustle and Bang run in the orange/peach category of reds and pinks.  Power Hustle is very much warm toned, and I do feel Bang is also warm toned as well ~ although the peach-rose combination  might work for cool tones, as it is not as orange.
