I have purchased quite a few The YEON products in the last several months and received a few in my Memeboxes, too. This Spring Edition (Part 2) of my The YEON reviews will focus on 2 products that I have not really reviewed before and also 2 products that were included in my previous “favorite products” blog posts. To read my Part 1 review, click here.
This review will focus on 4 products from The Yeon Jeju Hallabong Energy line ~ Spot Powder Ampoule, All Day Sun Cream SPF50+ PA +++, Pore Ghassol Wash-Off Pack and ADE Peeling Toner.
Some key ingredients that are found in the Jeju Hallabong Energy line

Hallabong (Mandarin Orange) ~ Has astringent and toning properties and are a great source of Vitamin C, which is known to improve and even out skin tone and texture. Vitamin C is also important to stimulate collagen, which helps with anti-aging.
Kiwi ~ Kiwis actually contain more Vitamin C than oranges, and this will help slow down the appearance of aging as well as repairing your skin. Vitamin C helps heal cuts and wounds, and prevents rough and dry skin. Kiwi extract will help soften your skin. Kiwi is also a great source of Vitamin E, which helps decrease facial lines and the depth of facial wrinkles and is also a major source of antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and reverse the damage caused by them.
Broccoli ~ Broccoli is a superfood it not only contains antioxidants like beta-carotene and Vitamin C, it also has Vitamin B complex, Vitamin E ~ which creates radiant skin and shiny hair as it revives skin tissue, Vitamin A and K, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Amino Acids and Folic Acid (Vitamin B9). All of these vitamins help care for your skin and keep it glowing and healthy. Broccoli also contains glucoraphanin, a phytonutrient, which has been reported in reversing sun damage on your skin.
Aloe Vera ~ Aloe Vera is a powerful moisturizer that doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. It soothes, treats inflammation, helps speed up skin healing and also has a plethora of antioxidants ~ beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which help improve your skin’s firmness and keeps your skin moist and hydrated. It also contains over 75 different nutritious ingredients, including minerals, enzymes, amino acids, salicylic acid and much more.
Lemongrass ~ Lemongrass will help reduce/limit the bacterial and microbial growth on your skin, as it is an anti-microbial and anti-bacterial herb. This means it will also help protect your skin from infections and it will help cure fungal infections on your skin as well. Lemongrass is also an astringent and will help reduce the appearance of your pores, control sebum (oil) production and temporary firm your skin.
Avocado ~ This ingredient is in some of their Hallabong products. Avocados are full of antioxidant carotenoids, such as alpha and beta caroten ~ and these antioxidants combat free radical and environmental damage and protect your skin from premature aging. It is also full of Vitamin C, which helps stimulate the production of collagen, which leads to firmer skin and Vitamin E, another powerful antioxidant, combating not only free radical damage, but protecting and reducing the effects of UVA and UVB sun exposure radiation. It also has an omega-9 fat, high oleic acid, which helps create a moisture barrier, making skin soft and moisturized, while regenerating damaged skin cells and reducing facial irritation and redness.
Papaya ~ This ingredient is in some of their Hallabong products. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain, which is a natural exfoliator, making your skin smooth, vibrant and healthy. Papain cures a variety of skin issues, such as acne, dry skin and premature again. Papaya also is an antioxidant, as it has Vitamins A, C and E along with carotenoids, helping to reduce inflammation of your skin, as well as nourishing it.
Spot Powder Ampoule ~ I actually love these spot powder ampoules from Korea. This is my 3rd brand type with this product and this works very well on my acne. The purpose of these spot powders is that you would apply this on your pimples or pimples-to-be, using a cotton swab (Q-tip) before you go to bed and then overnight, your acne will be greatly reduced in size and inflammation. The calamine helps soothe your acne, as well as being a mild antiseptic to prevent further infections (yes, zits are puss filled infections!) and it is also an astringent. Salicylic Acid (made from willow bark) will help heal existing acne and prevent new ones from forming, while controlling the sebum production.
Do not shake the bottle as you want to have the clear solution separate from the pink powder. You want to insert the swab straight down into the bottle, picking up some of the pink powder, and then lifting the swab back up. Apply to your spots. I have found that the pink powder product works very well in helping to stop acne from getting worse. You do need to catch it in time, otherwise, I find that I have to drag out some more heavy duty products. I have to say, I love the description on the bottle: “Powder ampoule that immediately heal a zit“. No mincing with fancy terms there! By the way, it looks like TheYEON has repackaged the bottle (see photos below). I have the original packaging. Full Size 15 mL $13.00 (14,300 won)

All Day Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ Ahh, sunscreen. I need to wear it more often, because even though my makeup has SPF in it, it isn’t as much as I should be applying to my face. I am always worried about hyper-pigmentation and wanting to whitening those sun spots on my face, yet the best thing I can do to help not darken them further is to wear a decent sunscreen. The problem I have with sunscreen is that it can be so heavy and it breaks me out. I decided to give The YEON a shot to being my sunscreen of choice, and have been wearing it for a month now and so far, so good.
This has a very faint scent of citrus to it which is only apparent (at least to me) after I apply it ~ but I really have to sniff it to smell it (this is when it is on my hand). When I apply it to my face, I cannot smell anything with it. A very creamy white sun cream that is not too thick, but isn’t thin and runny either ~ it does not leave a white cast behind. If I wish to reorder it, I would have to place a special request with testerkorea.com, as they currently do not have it there. Full Size 50 mL $13.00 (13,800 won)

I am merging my past reviews from my favorites blog post into this one, so that all of my The Yeon reviews are easily found.
Pore Ghassoul Wash Off Pack ~ Since this is made with citrus (hallabong is an orange), this clay mask smells like oranges and it is quite lovely. It is an ugly grey-green color, but it is a smooth clay mask, made from Moroccan ghassoul (lava clay), mandarin orange (also known as hallabong), kiwi, broccoli, avocado, cocoa seed and lemongrass extracts ~ full of Vitamin C and antioxidant ingredients! This mask goes on smoothly, has an initial cooling feeling and it does dry down to a traditional clay mask, but doesn’t dry my face out. This is due to the cocoa seed extract and avocado fruit extract in the clay mask, which are highly moisturizing. You would think this would be in competition with the bentonite, kaolin and Moroccan lava clay, but this all works together to make a clay mask that works for all skin types. My face does feel wonderfully clean, moisturized and refreshed with the orange scent, removes impurities and controls sebum (oil) due to the clay ingredients and this mask also exfoliates due to the fruit enzymes and it soothes, as aloe vera is a main ingredient as well. To use, just apply on clean face, avoiding eyes and mouth, and then rinse off after 10 minutes. If you have oily skin, let the pack dry completely and then rinse off with lukewarm water. I use a big old facial sponge to help remove all of the clay mask ~ it does help! Full Size 100 mL Value $22.00 (23,400 won)

ADE Peeling Toner ~ I received this toner in my “From Jeju” Memebox and this has already been repurchased as I really love it! This is a refreshing toner that exfoliates gently using natural citrus extracts and salicylic acid. It smells like an orange festival when I apply this to a cotton pad and then swipe it over my face, leaving it cleansed and my pores feel tightened. It does have alcohol in it, but with toners, I am fine with it, as I always follow up with serums and moisturizers. You can get this at testerkorea.com for about $17.00 It took me several horrible hours of trying to translate this photo ingredient list. I hope I got it right, but I am also including the image that I used from the official TheYeon website as well, in case I did not. The scent alone is enough to make me worship this unassuming bottle of delight. The term peeling in this product means exfoliate, and papaya extract and willow bark extract have enzymes that are great for exfoliation. This is the only product I have in the Hallabong line that does not have Kiwi, Aloe Vera or Broccoli extracts in it. This is a toner I do not wish to be without! Full Size 200 mL $17.00 (18,300 won)

What would I purchase from these products again? The ADE Peeling Toner, that is for sure. The Ghassol Pack is also a winner. If The YEON opens up an international shop, which I hear they might, I would repurchase the Spot Treatment and Sun Cream. If I already have an order with testerkorea.com, I would add them in my cart as they are lightweight enough. In the USA, The YEON, has a flagship store in Flushing, NY ~ located at 13662 39th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11354, so if any of my readers are lucky enough to live near there, you can stop on by and purchase these items in the store.
What is coming up for my next reviews with The YEON? Cooling Sherbert Cream, Calming Powdery Toner for Oily Skin and Calming Pore Serum for Oily Skin.
Do you have any of The Yeon products? What do you think of them?

I absolutely love the toner as well and luckily managed to get another from the UK! I’ve been planning to get one of those magical spot potions (I get occasional hormonal lovelies) but I must ask, did you notice a difference between brands? I have been recommended the Mizon one but I know there are others cheaper so if they are all pretty similar I may try and get this with my upcoming Yeon order from TK (I want to get full sizes of the masks after trying the mini’s to review). x

I did like the insobeau pink powder version, but there was a L’Ocean one that didn’t work that well for me. I haven’t tried the mizon one yet. The Yeon version does work very well for me. The clay mask is so wonderful – I love it a lot!

I sold the Insobeau one to someone as I didn’t think I’d use it at the time. I always forget about my hormonals at any other time in the month …doh!

Those are the cutest stickers on your photos! Can I ask where you got them from? Also, awesome review, I really want to try The YEON toner some time, I’ve been trying to find the best toner for my skin for a while.

I just did searches on kawaii oranges, broccoli and other fruits and veggies! There are a lot out there. I use pic monkey if I want to use the stickers (overlay) and pic monkey also has things like stars and fireworks. The toner is fantastic! I never want to be without it.
