Soo, yeah, it is mid August, and yet I just received my July Wet Shave Club Ladies Box. Back in March, Wet Shave Club announced a Ladies box of their monthly subscription and the first month was 50% off the box price. I signed up for 3 months and this is my 3rd and last box with them.
About Wet Shave Club
- Your first box includes a classic safety razor, brush, blades, soaps and more
- Your second box onwards includes aftershaves, soap, blades, and more
- New member boxes ship same week
- Shipping is on the house inside the United States, $5.99 to Canada, and $13.99 internationally
- Check our social media for upcoming soaps and aftershaves
- Cancel or skip a box anytime! No hassle!
They have several plans
- Monthly: $29.00 per box
- 3 Month: $26.00 per box
- 6 Month: $24.00 per box
- 12 Month: $22.00 per box
Again, no informational card with the boxes. This is a major oversight on Wet Shave Club and they should be adding them in the boxes. My box was well over 2 weeks late in shipping out and Jen at Wet Shave Club was really nice as she refunded my box because it was so delayed.
What we stand for:
Creating chemical-free, safe and nourishing skincare
Providing our animals with a natural and humane environment
Using nature to guide our animal husbandry practices
Seeking methods that limit the use of outside inputs
Adopting practices that utilize the full cycle of nature and minimize waste
Using eco-friendly and recyclable packaging
At Little Seed Farm we endeavor to create a farming model based on true sustainability, relying on as few inputs as possible. For us that means starting with a seed. We start with grass, forage, and botanical seeds that evolve into rich pastures and healing herbs. Our goats, pigs and chickens are the beneficiaries, happily grazing down the grass as they are rotationally grazed throughout the year. By-products of our farm are incorporated into the system whenever possible.
Whether it’s through composting or choosing to use only recyclable packaging, we seek to minimize waste and pollution. By allowing our animals to graze on open land in the fresh air we believe our alternative farming model can provide our customers with healthier products and the knowledge that it was produced humanely and responsibly. Little Seed Farm Farmstead Milk Soap Activated Charcoal I do have oily skin, so this soap from Little Seed Farm will be very useful. Goat’s milk soap has a pH level that is closer to your skin’s natural pH level, so I feel comfortable using this on my face. Mini Size 2.4 oz Retail Value $4.00
Description: Gentle yet powerful, this bar will quickly become an indispensable staple in your skincare routine. Activated charcoal is gifted with the ability to deep clean without drying, chemically attracting and locking in toxins (from indoor and outdoor pollution) that can cause breakouts and irritation. It washes them away without breaking down your skin’s naturally protective mantle, making our Activated Charcoal Bar a perfect companion for sensitive and irritated or acne prone skin.
Ingredients: organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, grassfed goat’s milk, sodium hydroxide**, activated charcoal
** none remains after the saponification process
RAW GOAT’S MILK – Milked fresh daily from our sustainably raised micro herd. Our goats spend their days in the sun and fresh air on Little Seed’s pastures. They happily chomp on native grasses, herbs, and forages and give their thanks in the superior quality of milk they provide daily. Goat’s milk is gentle, nourishing, and full of moisturizing butterfat that soothes dry or irritated skin. Because of its unique structure, in particular its short protein strands, the abundance of natural minerals and vitamins in our goat’s milk is easily absorbed into your skin, helping to moisturize, protect, and heal.
ACTIVATED CHARCOAL (food grade from bamboo) – Standard “equipment” in ambulances, activated charcoal has absorptive properties, attracting and binding toxins, poisons, pollutants, and irritants. In skincare it is used to lightly exfoliate and deep clean sensitive skin.
OLIVE OIL (certified organic and cold pressed) – This oil has been used in skincare and health for centuries and its rich history isn’t just a fluke. Olive Oil is full of antioxidants (such as vitamins A and E) that help neutralize free radicals that cause skin damage. The hydrophilic properties of these antioxidants help to form a protective barrier, trapping moisture on your skin and allowing for longer hydration. We use cold pressed, certified organic oils to ensure that only the good stuff comes through in our soap.
COCONUT OIL (certified organic) – Helps strengthen underlying tissues and removes excessive dead cells on the skin’s surface, keeping skin soft.
Little Seed Farm Elasticity Serum This serum is also sold as a body oil too, but they made a smaller size when they found that their customers were using it on their face and necks. I do love the scent of this oil, it smells like rosemary and mint, but I will be using this on my body parts and neck, as I am very picky about what oils that I put on my face. I only put specifically formulated for oily/blemish-prone oil serums on my face, not ones marketed for ‘all skin types’. That said, this will be used, as I do have areas that could benefit from such moisturizing oils. Little Seed Farm does not do animal testing on their products and their products are free from parabens, gluten, GMO free, sulfates and preservatives. Full Size 1 oz Value $18.00
Description: Deeply moisturizes, tones and enhances skin’s elasticity with the power of organic botanicals. Daily use reduces the appearance of fine lines, age spots, and slack or sagging skin, while leaving skin deeply nourished and glowing. The only difference I can see is that the spearmint & rose geranium oil ingredients are swapped around in the ingredient order. Apply daily to moisturize, tone, and enhance elasticity. This serum is wonderful for all skin types for every day toning but it truly shines during periods of stretching or shrinking. The relaxing aromatheraputic scent makes using our Elasticity Serum a pleasure and you will find that applying it becomes an enjoyable ritual to add to your day.
Ingredients: gevuina avellana (hazelnut) oil, rosmarinus officinalis oil, mentha viridis(spearmint) oil pelargonium graveolens (Rose geranium) oil, lavandula angustifolia oil.
Whoo’s Soap Shave Soap in Raspberry Lemonade My very first Wet Shave Box did have a Whoo’s Soap product in it and I think these might be specially made for WSC, as I cannot find this specific item at their etsy shop. This shave soap is made with vegetable oils and a moisturizing glycerin, plus clay ~ which makes this a great detox soap too, if you don’t want to use it for shaving. It has a great lemony sweet raspberry scent and I love the bright shade of raspberry. I am basing the value on other shave soaps in their etsy shop. Full Size 2 oz Value $2.43
Ingredients: coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil, glycerine, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbitol, sorbitan oleate, soybean protein, wheat protein, bentonite, clay, aloe, fragrance oils
I also received 2 different packs of blades for my razor
Gillette 7 O’Clock Sharp Edge Double Razor (5 pack) Value $2.00
Description: Gillette 7 O’Clock SharpEdge brand double edge razor blades. These double edge blades are made from stainless steel and fit all double edge razors.
Description: Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless double edge razor blades are made with high quality stainless steel and provide a close and comfortable shave. Great for less coarse and finer hair.
I really think this month was a major improvement over last month’s box. The products are interesting and I love the Little Seed Farm items! However, this is my last month with Wet Shave Club, as I still feel that they are struggling to curate a ladies shaving box ~ I will say it again, I don’t think it is that difficult to curate one: soothing aftershave gels, shaving foams, anti-rash/bump treatments, a bowl for our brush and soap, even nice towels made from interesting materials, like hemp. I will keep an eye on this service and see if it improves, but it is difficult because not too many people are posting their photos on IG or FB. I would love to have a box filled with shaving-related goodies, but so far, Wet Shave Club has to really improve for me to re-sub. Their customer service is top notch and very responsive, but you have to reach out to them ~ I never got a notice that my box would be so delayed until I emailed them. However, I do think that they excel in their Men’s version of their monthly box. Because of the delay, I was refunded my full $26.00 for this box, so it was free to me, and the retail value of this box is $28.13
