Unboxing Beauty

I am always looking at BB creams and foundations, as my favorite Western one looks to be in demand and I do not know if they are discontinuing it or not.   When I saw this adorable packaging from TonyMoly’s Bling Cat series, I just had to try it!!   Jolse, a premier Korean online store, sent me these items for review purposes.

Skin Type/Concerns:  Oily, blemish prone, aging skin with hyper-pigmentation and fine lines/wrinkles.

TonyMoly Bling Cat Cotton Cover Cushion SPF50+ PA+++  OMG ~ look at this packaging!  This comes in a cream colored case, with a cute kitty that is actually 3-D ~ it is raised from the cover itself.  The cat has bling bling on its cheeks, hence its name ~ haha.  It gets even better… Open up the case and the cushion pad has a little cat paw print and the cushion itself has a cat face cut into the sponge!!  I really did squeeeeee when I saw that.

Now, I am pretty much neutral ~ I have both warm and cool tones on my face.  I tend to lean towards more warmer in my foundation shades as pink toned foundations make me look very PINK and I do not like that. I chose #02 Skin Beige, which is good if you use foundations 21 and 23 ~ they have two other choices: #01 Vanilla Beige (Bright 21) and #03 Warm Beige.

Skin Beige is a neutral medium-light shade that looked REALLY dark and yellowish in the cushion and even in the swatch, but once I patted it on, it actually brightened my skin tone and blended in nicely, providing medium coverage.  This has a fresh scent to it, but nothing strong and the finish is semi-matte, which I really appreciate.

Notable ingredients:  CATNIP!! Alas, my cat is not attracted to my Tonymoly Bling Cat Cotton Cushion, but this does contain kit-kat nip ~ Of course it does!  It has to in order for it to be a Bling Cat.  Catnip is part of the mint family, so if you are pregnant, please ask your doctor about using first.  Catnip has a natural astringent and oil-control benefits, as well as an antioxidant.  This also has centella which is known for its soothing and healing benefits. Funnily enough, there is no cotton ingredient in here.  I think the cotton is more describing of the finish ~ soft, semi-matte.  For the UV filters, this includes titanium dioxide and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, to help block both UVA and UVB rays.

TonyMoly Bling Cat Cotton Lipstick in #10 Black Tea Plum  I love my vampy lipsticks and so you know I had to get the darkest SHADE in the series.  It is dark, but it has a nice brightness to it without making me feel self conscious about it.

Okay, once again with the packaging!! The color of the tube case will actually depend on the shade you choose ~ mine is a dark, bright plum shade.  BUT THE CAP!!  There is a little kitty on top of the cap and its expression is different, but it seems random and not associated with the shade.  Even the back of the kitty shows the raised tail!  TonyMoly knows how to do aegyo ~ this is so cute!

They have 10 shades: 01 Wild Kiss, 02 Heroine Pink, 03 Stay Darling,  04 Little Coral, 05 Orange Drop, 06 Chic Brick, 07 Lilac Tear, 08 Femme Love, 09 Maroon Mood and 10 Black Tea Plum

Now on to the product itself ~ lol. This lipstick does has a lot of dimethicones in here, which makes this lipstick apply easily without patching.  There are several moisturizing and nourishing oils and butters: sea buckthorn, cocoa, shea, murumuru as well as CATNIP (it makes another appearance), moisturizing collagen and antioxidant vitamin E.   The finish is soft and velvety ~ I wouldn’t say this is a true matte, but it is pretty close to one.  The shade is so pretty, vibrant without being screaming bright and I love the deep berry-plum shade.  When this lipstick fades, it will leave behind a bright plum color as a stain.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, I was REALLY surprised at these products!  I selected them because I am a crazy cat lady and these are so cute, but the quality is there for the price.  The cushion is fantastic for those with oily and oily/combo skin and the lipstick has great color pigmentation and it isn’t cakey or patchy when I apply it on my lips.  Due to the ingredients list, it won’t dry up your lips like a lot of matte lippies.  So color me impressed with the Bling Cat Cotton makeup!
